Three England captains got together at Brighton College to share their knowledge and expertise.
Mike Gatting, Chris Cowdrey and Clare Connor took part in an coaching conference.
England women's skipper Connor, a teacher at the College, organised the all-day event that involved coaching and speaking to 90 schools coaches from across the country.
She said: "It went well. The timing was good, a month before the season. There was a buzz. It was the first conference of its kind.
"Hopefully if two delegates went away with two just ideas to re-assess and rejuvenate their coaching techniques it will have been a success.
"Hopefully we can make it an annual event."
Gatting, who helped with a spin bowling clinic, said: "England had a disappointing World Cup and cricket coaching in schools has been in decline for ten to 15 years.
"It is vital better practises are established in schools so cricket can go forward. It's a great initiative."
Sussex and England fast bowler James Kirtley and county wicketkeeper Matt Prior held sessions, while former county skipper John Barclay spoke about captaincy.
