As residents of Kings Esplanade, we read with great interest the council spokesman's response to the article on the dreadful state of the Medina site on the Hove seafront (The Argus, March 20).
The comment that the site was visited last August and it was not believed, at that time, to be a risk to public health typifies this Labour council's arrogant couldn't-care-less attitude.
If councillors came along now, they could enjoy the scene of the dumped garbage along with the rats. The squatters living happily in the building next to it, tolerated by the owners and the council, were not mentioned in the article.
We are pleased to see a new candidate in the forthcoming elections highlighting this issue, as our elected councillors, Simon Battle and Frieda Warman Brown, are obviously too busy removing the opposition's leaflets from letter boxes in their new ward Goldsmid to even care.
No wonder we never see them here.
