Lewes launched themselves back into the promotion frame in division one south with a 2-1 win away to Corinthian Casuals.
This was the second time Lewes had met the Surrey side in four days and although the margin was not as big as Saturday's 5-0 stroll, the three points were vitally important.
It means the Rooks have closed the gap on second placed Bognor Regis to just three points and they trail leaders Carshalton by six with a game in hand.
In a quiet opening 20 minutes neither side could muster a worthwhile chance.
However Lewes took the lead in the 29th minute when Lee Newman made the most of a poor defensive tackle by Leon Rashbrook and proceded to wrong-foot Hotchkiss before firing the ball past a defender on the goalline.
Three minutes later Casuals drew level when a low free kick found its way to the far post where John Russell-Smith was on hand to prod the ball in.
Two minutes before the interval Lewes regained the lead after Newman back-healed the ball to Chris Dickson whose cross was met with a glorious shot by Paul Kennett which went into the net via a post.
The second half produced no further goals with the nearest effort by Lewes coming from a shot on the turn by Marc Cable which just went over the crossbar.
