The Davies and Tate Trophy gets underway tomorrow when holders West Hove visit Seaford Head among 19 first round ties.
Steve Nielsen, West Hove's team captain, has a full squad to chose from and the spirit seems at the same level as when they splashed each other with champagne during the victory celebrations at Crowborough last September.
Nilesen said: "We are treating this first match as the final again. We went there and paid a green fee ten days ago and had another round courtesy of the course this week. After that, we had what I like to call a bonding session, curry and lager, and early to bed tonight."
If Nielsen has a problem it is who to leave out from Russell Cronin, Tom Coulson, Gareth Hall, Raoul Ellis, Chris Stevens, Tim Marshallsay, Mark Pollington, Tony Humphrey and, of course, himself.
