After yesterday's events at the West Pier, surely it is inevitable that time will be called and the remaining infrastructure removed?
With today's technology, it must surely be possible to build an identical structure which, to all intents and purposes, will appear to be the restored West Pier in all its glory.
Maybe the site could be leased to a major hotel chain which could rebuild it to incorporate a unique hotel in which every room would have a sea view.
Or some waterside apartments which could be sold on standard leases. Think how much revenue these would raise. I am sure people would pay a huge premium to live in such a unique position.
Either one of these proposals, if sympathetically designed, need barely be noticeable from the outside and I am sure there must be plenty of other possibilities.
