Crawley's Ross Minter recorded his ninth win in ten fights at Portsmouth when he stopped Jay Mahoney (Peterborough) in the second round.
Former world middleweight champion Alan Minter, Ross's dad, was at ringside as the welterweight forced the referee to stop the contest after Mahoney suffered a severe cut over his left eye.
Ross said: "I started a bit fast and erratic but I was looking forward to settling down and getting him with some nice shots. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance as I caught him with a good right hand, cut his eye and it was over.
"I felt comfortable and there are better things to come.
"I just want to keep busy now. I want a few more fights and maybe a title shot at the end of the year. I'm 24, all of this is experience and I'm in no rush."
Meanwhile, Heavyweight Audley Harrison beat Ratko Draskovic 80-73 on points at Wembley to maintain his 100 per cent professional record.
