A bumper number of candidates are standing for election in a key Sussex district.
The number of nominations for election to Lewes District Council on May 1 has shot up to 114, despite there being just 41 seats.
Prospective councillors hope to be chosen to represent 21 wards from Lewes to Seaford.
The number of wards has been reduced to 21, with the number of councillors reduced from 48 to 41 to ensure each councillor represents the same number of electors.

Poll cards will be sent out during the next week.
