I read with interest the article about the planned use of the disused public convenience in Bear Road, Brighton (The Argus, April 1).

I am not, in principle, against Felix and Carol Guarriello's proposal to convert this property into a flower shop.

It would, without a doubt, be good for both themselves as a business and for the people visiting the cemetery to buy flowers.

But can anybody come up with the answer to the parking problems? This will cause customers to double park, causing even more congestion on one of Brighton's major roads.

Perhaps, before selling this property, Brighton and Hove City Council could have considered refurbishing it to its original intention - or maybe it is considering selling part of the cemetery for conversion into a car park.

As it was April 1, are we sure this was not another April Fool?
