East Grinstead Town clinched the third promotion place to division one of the Matthew Clark County League after a goalless draw against Westfield at East Court.
Needing a point to secure the final place in the top flight alongside Eastbourne Town and Rye, the Wasps did all that was asked of them in a tense encounter.
Delighted boss Bobby Smith said: "It is fantastic. This is the culmination of five years' really hard work.
"This is the best year for us to go up because I think we are ready for division one. The big difference this year is when we have played the likes of Rye and Eastbourne Town we have got results against them.
"I think we will be a credit to division one."
On a hard pitch Grinstead had the better chances against a more than useful Westfield side.
The best was a 31st minute penalty awarded for handball against Tony Harris but Kris Trevor's spot kick was saved by Paul Worthington diving to his right.
Steve Banks also went close on a couple of occasions but a 0-0 draw proved enough to give Grinstead promotion ahead of Oakwood, who beat Shinewater Association 2-1 with goals from Zak Newman and Gerald Manville.
Steve Smith scored twice as title chasing Rye and Iden United won 3-2 at Saltdean United.
In division one, Ringmer beat Horsham YMCA 2-1 which meant Burgess Hill would have been crowned champions regardless of their result against Whitehawk.
Andy Johnson gave Ringmer the lead against the run of play but Nick Flint soon levelled for YM.
The winner came two minutes from time when Grant Bean crossed from the right and the ball dropped for Chris Johnson to smash it past the helpless YM keeper.
Paul Lee scored four times as Selsey beat Wick 5-1.
