Brighton Mohawks are off to the unofficial world ultimate frisbee championships in Rimini, Italy.

The 24-strong squad, skippered by Felix Shardow, will compete in the mixed event of a sport described as a cross between netball and American Football by Mohawks organiser Maggie Hansen.

Hansen said: "It will be the fifth time we've competed and we've never won anything. We don't expect to win anything again.

"I feel we represent the spirit of fair play. There are no referees for the five-a-side matches so it is important teams remember to be sporting. We have quite a reputation for it.

"It is the biggest beach tournament in existence and there will be 96 teams from four continents."
