A woman stabbed her partner and set fire to the home they shared, a court heard.
Andrea Maclean, 29, was suffering from depression when she attacked her lover Simon Mitchell in an office in Foundry Lane, Horsham, on January 23.
On the same day she torched a house in Macleod Road, Horsham, which she had shared with Mr Mitchell.
Appearing at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday, she pleaded guilty to arson and unlawful wounding.
James Mason, defending, said the crimes marked the "tumultuous, emotional end" of the couple's relationship.
He added: "She had become seriously chronically depressed and it was in that state she caused damage to the complainant's home and confronted him in his place of work, where they had an argument.
"She had a knife with her and used it, leaving him needing four stitches."
Since the incidents, Maclean had been cared for at The Priory Clinic in Hove but is now living with her parents in Horsham.
Judge Anthony Scott Gall adjourned the case for pre-sentencing and psychiatric reports to be drawn up. Maclean was granted bail on condition she does not contact Mr Mitchell and will be sentenced on May 14.
