Gavin Kennedy hit the nail on the head by stating the elections are, indeed, bizarre (Letters, April 22).
In one week's time, a combination of apathetic stay-at-home Labour supporters and left-wing anti-war protesters will help elect a Tory council.
And what will happen when the Tories run Brighton and Hove? Well, you don't have to be Nostradamus to predict what will happen.
Tory leader Brian Oxley has already admitted that a Tory council would make cuts.
His colleague Lynda Hyde has previously said in The Argus that "too much money goes to Whitehawk" so we can expect no help from a Tory council to regenerate local communities in need.
These are just two examples of what to expect when the Tories are elected next week thanks to voters who want to give Tony Blair a kicking over Iraq.
I am against the Iraq war but I know it is too dangerous to play around and risk letting the Tories in by voting Liberal Democrat or Green.
If you haven't voted yet, wake up to the danger and vote Labour, otherwise you will only have yourself to blame when Brighton and Hove gets the blues on May 1.
