Congratulations on The Argus's Brighton Festival special publication on Saturday.
It contains advertisements from the festival and the fringe together, unlike the festival publicity.
A full explanation is needed on how the Brighton Festival Fringe is being advertised.
There are two different festival brochures, with one class of promotion for "official" events through the Brighton Festival magazine and a second class of promotion in the Brighton Festival Fringe magazine, which appears to be left largely to groups themselves.
Many organisations were misled and not informed that the exclusion of fringe activities from the main festival magazine would lead to two fringe magazines, the Brighton Festival Fringe magazine and the Brighton Fringe Festival magazine.
This means there are now three festival magazines in circulation, creating confusion and clumsy communications.
Advance sales for our organic gardening presentation by Gay Search on May 4, about designs for small gardens, highlights these new advertising problems, as sales are down from last year when there was a similar high-profile speaker.
This year, it has been left to venues such as The Old Market in Hove to advertise separately to boost fringe sales.
It would be interesting to know if other fringe organisations have similar problems and if the Brighton Festival organisers will be advertising in the local Press for all events and not just the main festival events.
