Nothing is safe from thieves in Brighton, as the couple who run Belmont Funeral Homes can testify.
Someone threw a computer monitor through the window of their premises in Islingword Road and stole a marble statue of Jesus.
It's not just the fact the statue was worth £500 that has upset funeral directors Alec Piper and Lea Mylton-Thorley.
This statue, and two others stolen with it, have huge sentimental value as they have been with the family business for more than 20 years.
All three statues were not insured as thieves rarely attack funeral parlours.
Maybe these villains, on reading our story today, will feel contrite and return the statues - or they may be the subject of divine intervention.
