With regard to the story about Labour "sampling" postal ballots (The Argus, April 28), why not focus on what the politicians are saying instead of headlining something that undermines the prospect of electors exercising freedom and democracy?
Everyone can read a dodgy politician if they have half a brain but the media in this country seem happy to muckrake, then fail to follow through on illegal or allegedly unlawful activity.
The law is there to be upheld. The media, and that includes The Argus, should do more to encourage democracy and not deride it.
The story answers no questions and damages legitimate local elections.
We have just attacked Iraq to give its people democracy.
Let us hope the Iraqis do not become as apathetic over democracy as parts of our own media or electorate.
