There couldn't be a much more tense way in which to end a season than the final match being played on Sunday by Brighton and Hove Albion.
Seagulls need to win against already relegated Grimsby and hope Stoke lose at home to rampant Reading to have a chance of remaining in Division One next season.
The whole city must get behind Steve Coppell's team and give them inspiration to snatch a dramatic win.
Players must also hope Reading, already in the play-offs, have the pride to go for a club points record by beating Stoke, who will be desperate for at least a draw.
Albion have done a Houdini act before, when defeat was even more dangerous and would have sent the club out of the Football League.
Brighton and Hove will be praying they can do it again and survive in the First Division until a spanking new community stadium at Falmer can help revive their fortunes.
Let us pray with them.
