Politics in Brighton and Hove look set for an interesting few years.
While some may think that no overall control is a bad thing, it bodes well for democracy and the hoped-for negotiating between the various groups and individuals on Brighton and Hove City Council.
I am very sad not to see either Heather James or Pat Murphy re-elected as they provided a good balance for some of us in the previous Labour group.
I hope, also, that Jenny Barnard-Langston finds a way back into politics.
Best wishes to all councillors of all parties and special good wishes to Roy Pennington, who has not only stuck to his principles but also provided a wonderful example of fighting against the odds following his stroke.
-Susan Joy, ex-Brighton councillor
