As the results of the local elections have now become clear, we have lost some very good councillors (The Argus, May 3).
Jenny Barnard-Langston and her husband, Mark, have both lost their seats despite serving their local areas well. Frieda Warman Brown, Mike Middleton and Heather James will be greatly missed for their hard work on improving conditions for their areas in Brighton and Hove.
I am also disappointed to see Stephen Wade has lost his seat in my own area. He always fought hard for local issues.
Newly elected councillors will have a hard act to follow and their challenges begin now.
I am sure all the defeated councillors will have a future in local politics if they wish and will continue to watch and comment.
