Hastings rider Peter Tadros hit peak form in the Addiscombe CC 25-mile open time trial.
Unlike many riders he was untroubled by a blustery wind as he covered the course in the Horsham area in 53min.32sec.
Tadros said: "I really felt in top form right from the start and it was definitely my best ride so far this year."
Eighteen of the 111 riders finished inside the hour and Friston rider James Dear (In Gear) placed sixth in 56min.44sec while Brighton's Mike Coyle (VC Etoile) was eighth in 57min.46sec.
The women's race produced a Sussex victory with Susan Uncles (Worthing Excelsior) winning in 1hr.11min.13sec.
The previous day, Tadros recorded 20min.48sec to finish second in the Catford Ten and Southwater rider Keith Reed (34th Nomads) was third in 21min.29sec.
National ten-mile champion Michael Hutchinson (Team MDT), from Northern Ireland, won in 19min.33sec.
The first four places in the Hampshire Road Club's ten-mile time trial at Walberton, near Arundel, were taken by members of the VC St Raphael, another Hampshire club.
Steve Walkling was fastest of the 104 riders in 20min.55sec. Two Sussex riders from GS Stella, John Limpus (21min.50sec) and Steve Geran (21min.52sec), were fifth and sixth. Harry Featherstone (Eastbourne Rovers) won the over-50s award in 24min.28sec, despite suffering with a chest infection.
The opening 30-mile race at the Goodwood motor circuit ended in a mass sprint finish involving around 80 riders after a last-lap crash thinned down the field.
Justin Hoy (Evans Cycles, Gatwick) was first over the line, just ahead of Worthing's Simon McNamara (Team Synergy).
Sean Yates, from Forest Row, now helping to manage the CSC professional team, celebrated after seeing Tyler Hamilton become the first American to win the classic Liege-Bastogne-Liege race.
Hamilton, who finished second in last year's Tour of Italy, is now aiming for a high placing in the Tour de France.
There is racing at Goodwood every Tuesday during the summer, with junior events at 6.30pm and the main senior race at 7pm.
The track season in Brighton's Preston Park is also underway. There are league meetings every Wednesday (weather permitting) starting at 7pm.
