Once again recently, I enjoyed the delight of walking down to the sea and along the seafront when a storm was blowing.
And, as many times before, I noticed there are junctions where pedestrians have to hold on to railings to negotiate the turn on to the seafront and that this effect is greatest where the nearby buildings are tallest.
So I note with interest the proposal to build even taller buildings on the King Alfred site on Hove seafront.
I wonder what it will be like walking down to the sea there to a taste of the wind and spray when there is a Force 8 blowing and the buildings are several stories taller than any of the present ones.
Should I feel assured the planners are taking this effect into account?
They didn't when they built tower blocks in the Sixties.
