I am angered that the person who "allegedly" set fire to Brighton's West Pier did so in the name of the Iraq war.
Can someone please explain to me the link between the war and a historic building and what this person hoped to achieve?
I appreciate some people did not want the war to happen but why did this individual have to set fire to a beautiful, albeit neglected, building?
It just shows you we have mindless morons who think nothing of destroying other people's property without a thought.
And was this done as a peaceful protest? Was this person also involved in the "peaceful" protest that caused more than £10,000 of damage to the Town Hall in Brighton last month?
How would this individual feel if we came round to his or her home and set fire to it because we objected to what was happening elsewhere in the world?
I hope he or she noted that the war was resolved and the Grand Old Lady stayed upright and will be restored to her former glory.
