Bosses at a hotel which was Nicholas Hoogstraten's seat of power have renamed the restaurant Nick's Bar.
But managers at The Courtlands Hotel in Hove say the jailed tycoon is not making his presence felt during his enforced absence - because it is named after another Nick.
Manager Eric Gautier said he could not remember the other Nick's surname but he was one of the directors of Maxwell Management, which owns the property's leasehold.
Mr Gautier said: "It is named after one of the new directors, who has been in post since just before Christmas.
"The restaurant was just part of the hotel before but we decided to give it a name to attract new customers who were not necessarily guests."
The 30-seater restaurant won an RAC Ribbon in January.
Hoogstraten is appealing against his conviction for the manslaughter of landlord Mohammed Sabir Raja.
