As parents of two children at East Brighton College of Media Arts (Comart), one in year seven and one in year ten, we feel we have been put in an intolerable position.
We have had no problem with the school and our children are happy there. We had two children attending when it was known as Stanley Deason High School, who did very well, and one of whom went to university.
What do we do now? Do we wait and hope the school remains open, hope the teachers stay on knowing their jobs are insecure or move our children to other schools?
For our child in year ten, coming up to his GCSE year, this would be too disruptive. For our child in year seven, he would have a chance to settle in somewhere else.
However, there is a problem. The only places avail-able are at Falmer, involving two buses and a journey time of about 45 minutes, or Portslade Community College, only one bus but a journey time of one hour.
We live five minutes walk from Comart.
We feel this is not acceptable. We chose Comart and do not see why we should be forced to change or to live with this uncertainty.
