Withdean 2000 will be playing in the Combined Counties League at Worthing next season.

The future of the club had looked in doubt after they were denied promotion by the Ryman League and told they could not groundshare at Worthing.

However, the Ryman League now say Worthing can have both Withdean and Albion Reserves using their ground again next season after all.

Last month Ryman League secretary Nick Robinson spoke about the number of matches being played at Woodside Road.

He said: "At the present time Worthing have not come to us and said they want Brighton and Hove Albion Reserves there as they did this season.

"As and when they do Worthing are aware there is a potential problem because what we have said is we are not prepared to authorise the same number of games this year as they had last year."

However, the Ryman League say they are now happy for Worthing to continue with both sides as tenants as Albion Reserves will be restricted to 12 matches at the venue, two less than last season.

Withdean chief executive Alan Pook said: "We have done a deal with Worthing to play at Woodside Road next year which secures the short-term future of the Withdean senior team and it also secures the long-term future of the youth set-up."
