A camera containing wedding photographs was stolen from the home of a newly-married couple in Shoreham.
Wedding gifts were also taken from the house in The Finches between 9am and noon last Friday.
Thieves stole jewellery, a mountain bike, a CD stereo, DVD player and DVDs, wedding gift vouchers which they were going to spend on a honeymoon, a computer, two Parachute Regiment statues and a bag of medical dressings belonging to the couple, one of whom is a paramedic.
PC Helen Rawlings said: "It is a heartless break-in, with so much taken of sentimental value.
"It is sad that you serve your country and the community as a paramedic and this is what happens."
Witnesses should phone 0845 6070999.
