Worthing boss Barry Lloyd will have showdown talks with Alan Pook, who is set to become director of football at Woodside Road.

Pook, formerly in charge of Withdean and Burgess Hill, has agreed to buy shares at Woodside Road and has been granted a seat on the board of directors.

He will meet with Lloyd tomorrow night to discuss how they can work together.

Worthing have also agreed a financial injection from a local consortium, whose representative Andy Lee is also being invited on to the board.

Pook will be severing official ties with Withdean, where Peter McDonnell is taking over as chief executive.

Worthing president Morty Hollis described the developments as good news for the club and said Lloyd could expect an improved playing budget.

Pook's arrival could lead to some of his Combined Counties title-winning side at Withdean joining him at Worthing.

Striker Sam Francis is expected to be a prime target.
