Susheela Raman has so much variety in her music and brings so many influences. Many of these treasures were brought into her performance.

Her songs are composed in several tongues, including Indian, Telugu, and Marathi. The resulting mix is bewitching, the new song Amba set the sensual tone.

Raman's band were skilled at reproducing the varied colours of the new CD Love Trap, at this point aided by a Tuvan vocal sample.

The delicate devotional songs contrasted with her powerful rock material, the sinuous Ethiopian melody of the album's title song was a significant highlight.

The band added solo flourishes, notably Aref Durvesh on tablas and vocals, backing vocalist and percussionist Djanuno Dabo's whose song was reminiscent of Youssou N'Dour and Sam Mills, who set several moods with acoustic and electric guitars.

Raman was throughout a captivating and energetic performer, a star who will no doubt command stadium audiences with her presence.
