A pair of glasses which reflect the wearer's eyes and a full-length dress made from shards of mirrors are among the exhibits in an art display.

About 500 students graduating from the University of Brighton's faculty of art and architecture put some of their coursework on display for the public.

Four floors, the courtyard and the gardens of the faculty building in Grand Parade, Brighton, have been hosting the exhibition since Saturday.

Sculpture student Heather Bass created the glasses, made out of brass and chrome, which provide mirror reflections.

Other students' exhibits include the mirror dress and an item called Absent Presence, featuring a man's clothes restructured without a body inside.

Previous art graduates from the university include Turner prizewinners Rachel Whiteread and Keith Tyson.

University spokeswoman Sarah Hepworth said: "The university has an excellent reputation for this sort of work.

"This is a great chance for people to see art created by the stars of tomorrow.

"For this week at least, this will probably be the largest gallery of artwork in the South-East."

The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday until June 26.

The graduate show is being sponsored by Brighton-based solicitors Burt Brill and Cardens.

The exhibition, at the university, is free and tickets are not required.

It will be followed by live music and visual shows at the nearby Corn Exchange in Brighton on Friday and Saturday.
