A school has been given permission to expand by councillors.
Lyndhurst County First School in Lyndhurst Road, Worthing, applied to build a single-storey extension at the rear of the complex to provide two classrooms and a special unit for children suffering from autism.
West Sussex County Council noted that the number of pupils would increase but the number of teachers would remain the same.
The school currently has 345 pupils, which would rise to 353 this year, 366 in 2004 and 355 in 2005.
Planners, who received no objections from people living near the site, said the extension would have little impact on neighbouring properties.
