I was interested to read in your report on Monday that the London to Brighton Bike Ride first started in 1980.
The Lancing and Sompting Royal British Legion Band played on the green at Turners Hill from 10am to 2pm on Sunday for the enjoyment of the riders.
Playing for the bike ride is a long-standing engagement for the band with this year being the 19th it has been there.
Over the years, we have played in a mixture of weather, from the heat wave of last Sunday to cold and rain.
We are proud to have been associated with the event for such a long time and hope to complete our 20th bike ride concert in 2004.
