Sussex fast bowler James Kirtley will return to the side for tomorrow's crunch Twenty20 clash with Kent after being released by England.
The paceman is returning to Sussex after being dropped from the national side's 15-man one-day party following The NatWest Challenge triumph over Pakistan.
His place in the England squad will be taken by Andrew Johnson, who took six wickets on his Test debut against Zimbabwe earlier this month but missed the first three one-day internationals of the summer with a knee injury.
The 28-year-old Somerset paceman has recovered sufficiently, however, to join up with the squad again, having originally been chosen ahead of Kirtley.
England's second limited-overs assignment of the summer, the triangular NatWest Series involving South Africa and Zimbabwe begins on Thursday with a match against the latter at Trent Bridge.
