Cuckmere Valley League: Leaders Blackboys lost by just one run to Firle who have now gone second in division one.

Batting first, Firle chalked up 183-6 thanks to knocks of 43 from Chris Gape, 34 by Richard Gravett and 33 from James Gravett.

In reply, David Walters (29) gave Blackboys a solid start but they found themselves way behind the run rate on 112-5 with just nine overs remaining.

With victory seemingly a distant target, Nick Rogers smacked 31 and Colin Albright thumped 26 to manoeuvre Blackboys into a position where just three runs were required off the last over with two wickets in hand. However, Blackboys only managed one more run as Firle's Richard Climpson had both Mark Cogger and Chris Turner stumped to dismiss the hosts for 182. Climpson finished with 4-48 and Paddy Byrne 3-33.

Mick Baldwin scored a marvellous 133 as Selmeston enjoyed a convincing win against Burwash Weald. Replying to Selmeston's 247-7, Burwash were bowled out for 147 with Graham Clout scoring 40 as Tony Silvester took 3-44.

Dominic Bowen scored 50 as Bells Yew Green made 154 all out, with Paul Wilson and Steve Knight taking three wickets apiece. In reply, hosts Alfriston were dismissed ten runs short on 144 with Simon Harmer top scoring with 30.

Phil Adams was the star of Withyham's emphatic victory over Denton. Adams hit 53 as Withyham made 170 all out and he then ripped in with 7-10 to skittle Denton for 38. Team-mate Ian Adams chipped in with 56.

In division two, Isfield were bowled out for just nine in their match at home to Laughton, with extras contributing five of that tally.
