Invitation League: Former division one leaders Arundel were relieved to bat out a draw at Broadwater after being 3-5 after eight overs.
Mid-table Broadwater raced to 207-5 after winning the toss, thanks to a quick-fire century by Steve Collins (111), who helped put on 130 for the second wicket with Richard Iago (42).
Neil Chitty (4-103) had most success and a first defeat of the season looked on the cards for Arundel as their top order collapsed.
Fitzroy Hodges (3-28) and Ian Timms (2-28) did the most damage and it was left to Arundel skipper Steve Mullen (42) to ensure his side escaped with a draw on 149-8.
Goring had to settle for a draw at second-bottom Burgess Hill despite a fourth-wicket partnership of 123 between Paul Davis (75) and Richard Stanley (56).
Burgess Hill were kicking themselves after dropping Davis before he had scored.
Ian Simpson tried to make amends by taking 6-44 for the home side, but he was unable to stem the Goring run-rate as they finished on 205-8.
Burgess Hill replied with 179-7 to secure 11 league points, thanks to solid batting performances. Ben Firmin hit 42, Paul Edwards 49 and Paul Brindle pulled and cut his way to 52 and was unlucky to be run out backing up at the bowlers' end from the last ball of the match.
Pagham remain fourth thanks to skipper Craig Primmer who inspired his side to a five-wicket win at Lindfield.
The Kiwi swing-bowler took 4-30 as Lindfield continued their poor batting form and were bowled out for 107. Sean Rutter chipped in to claim 3-25 as Lindfield offered little resistance and extras top scored with 19.
Sean Dobbs exploited poor fielding by Lindfield to make 37 in the Pagham reply and it was left to Primmer to cap a good all-round performance with an undefeated 16 to take his side to victory. Steve Pearce was the pick of the Lindfield attack with four wickets.
Division two leaders Pulborough could only manage a draw at Crawley despite a superb bowling display by Tony Petras.
He took 8-58, but it was not enough to prevent Crawley posting 235 all out, thanks to 59 from Pragash Podiratnum.
Pulborough struggled to 140-8 off 45 overs to earn 12 league points, but it was enough to extend their lead at the top to 28 points.
Second-placed Southwick squandered a chance to make up ground after losing by six wickets at Keymer and Hassocks.
Southwick were in control early on as Fenuik hit 74 to help set a target of 178-9. John Grimley took 5-57 for Keymer, who went on to post 179-4 in reply to claim victory. Tony Chad and John Carr were the stars, both hitting 67 runs.
Richard Nichols hit a quick-fire 54 in just 48 minutes to help Ansty to a convincing nine-wicket success against Scaynes Hill.
Ansty were always in control as bowlers Barry Crouch (5-26), Chris Nutter (2-36) and Simon Parsons (2-10) restricted Scaynes Hill to 101 all out. Only Andy Cocker (33) offered any resistance before Nichols helped Ansty race to 105-1.
Barns Green eased to a comfortable home victory over bottom side Eastergate. Martin Barrett (7-26) was the pick of the Green attack to leave Eastergate all out for just 78. The home side raced to 81-0 with Ollie Woodward hitting 40 not out.
