Further to Richard Franklin's letter (July 2) I would add selfishness to the list of cyclists' crimes.

It dumbfounds me the way a single cyclist out for exercise can choose to do so on traffic-clogged streets, disrupting the bus service for people needing to start work on time.

In busy thoroughfares like Western Road, it is often impossible for buses to safely overtake even a cyclist.

The same cyclist can hold up a bus for a whole series of stops, because most of these wobbling idiots pedal so painfully slowly that by the time the bus has picked up

passengers and is en route to the next stop, it has to slow down for the same cyclist well before it gets there.
