Brighton Bears' coaching staff want to see more of their trialists, despite a tough night in the Hosana Summer League at Crystal Palace last night.
South Coast, a team run by Bears duo Nick Nurse and Graham Wilson, went down 91-73 to Hackney in their opening match.
The result means Hackney go through to the play-offs as group winners but Wilson, who ran the team last night, rated it a valuable exercise.
Forward Christian Nkamhoua, from Cameroon, looked powerful and American guard Aaron Lovelace showed a nice first step out on the wings. Wilson also felt young English big men Pat Bates and Les Hartland read the game astutely.
He added: "It's good to get out and see the new crop of talent and, although we lost, it was not as emphatic as the score suggests.
"We are very interested in seeing all these guys again when we play next week if possible."
Wilson already knows plenty about Nkamhoua, having coached him at Middlesex University.
