Brighton brothers Ross and Ryan Long both achieved podium positions at the final event of the ACU Centenary Off-road Festival in the Isle of Wight.

The festival, which lasted a week, featured all disciplines of off road motorcycling including trials, enduro, speedway, quads and sidecars.

The brothers competed in the two-day motocross event, taking part in six races with all scores to count.

Ryan, 22, was in the up to 250cc group and finished second place.

This was a particularly good result as most of the machines in his group were 250s while Ryan was racing his 125 Boretech Yamaha.

Ross, 24, was in the over 250 group and also finished second overall, including a race win aboard his 450 Boretech Yamaha.

Sixteen-year-old Brighton schoolboy Adam Rose had a comfortable points lead after four races in the 125 schoolboy class.

He then suffered a bad crash at the first bend of the fifth race and ended up in hospital with a fractured shin.
