Thousands of people took the chance to enjoy the glorious weather at Brighton Racecourse while checking out new cars at The Argus Motorshow over the weekend.
The free event, which is in its 15th year and its third at the racecourse, is an opportunity for the public to enjoy a day out while inspecting a variety of makes and models.
Brian Collingwood, of Elm Grove, Brighton, said: "I'm thinking about buying a new car and I've got a budget to stick to so the show gives me the chance to look at all brands of cars on one site which are within my price bracket."
More than 200 vehicles were on display at the event, thought to have attracted more than 10,000 people.
Julian Wootten, sales manager for Brighton Suzuki, Preston Drove, said: "It's a good way to display what you have on offer. This year has been very enjoyable and the weather has helped.
"All in all, it's been very beneficial being here."
David Browne, of Chandlers BMW and Mini, was showing off a range of popular Mini Coopers, the new BMW Z4 which came out on June 24, and a range of other BMWs.
He said: "The whole object of us being here has been successful.
"We've taken names and addresses to send out brochures and follow-up letters."
As well as the cars and the glamorous models used to sell them, there were also attractions for children, including an animal farm and fairground.
The Argus bouncy castle kept the youngsters entertained as well as a Punch and Judy show, a children's entertainer, face painting and of course, ice cream sellers doing a roaring trade in the heat.
Jenny Barker, from Bevendean, Brighton, had a group of five children with her.
She said: "My partner is thinking about a new car and we thought we would come and have a look. It's good there's something for the kids because they don't really want to look at all the cars."
With the re-emergence of the scooter as a popular mode of transport there were motorbikes, Vespas and scooters on show.
And, in contrast to the new motors, there was a display of classic cars, including a clutch of Capris from the Sussex Capri Club, Bentleys, an Austin 1800, a Vanden Plas 1300 and an older fully-restored Mini on offer at £9,500.
