Members of Worthing Golf Club have raised £11,785 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Sheridan Edwards, community fundraiser for the charity, said: "When I opened the post and saw the size of the cheque I was absolutely delighted.
"I can only imagine the amount of time and effort the golf club has invested to raise this amount and am very grateful for its support."
Club captain Mike Holloway chose the charity for his year in the hot seat and along with his members has worked hard to ensure the fund-raising events have been a success.
A variety of events have been held, including a charity golf day, a captain's weekend when prizes donated by Mike could be won by competitors who donated their entrance fee to the charity fund, a Christmas raffle and an annual dinner dance.
The money will be used to provide practical nursing care and support for people terminally ill with cancer, and their families, during the coming year.
Care is provided free and enables patients to remain at home.
