Albion trialist Carl Wilson-Denis has earned himself another chance to impress manager Steve Coppell.
The 20-year-old striker played for 45 minutes in Albion's 5-1 pre-season friendly win at Arundel last night.
It was his first appearance since joing the club last week from Republic of Ireland Under-21s League side Mullingar.
The pacey forward, who came through the youth ranks at Ryman League side Kingstonian, hit the woodwork twice and looked dangerous throughout the first half.
His performance has given him another opportunity to prove himself in Albion's next pre-season game, at Crawley on Saturday.
Assistant manager Bob Booker said: "He did well. He has only been training with us for a couple of weeks so this was his first run out in an Albion shirt.
"He is a young lad and he hit the post and bar and created a lot of chances.
"He has met the lads now and he is someone we have picked up along the way through one of Steve's contacts.
"I don't know when a decision will be made on him. We will just look at the situation over the next couple of weeks of pre-season, that's the only way we can have a good look at him."
Fellow trialist Darryl Flahavan was not in the squad as he could not get to the game.
The former Southend keeper, who made more than 140 appearances for the Roots Hall club before being released, trained with the rest of the players this week.
Coppell is desperate to find some cover for Michel Kuipers, who played for 75 minutes against Arundel on his comeback from injury.
Albion are still uncertain on the future of Dean Blackwell. The former Wimbledon defender is waiting for scan results on a knee injury he picked up on the first day of pre-season training.
Blackwell has yet to sign a new contract, along with Dave Beasant.
Booker said: "We are still waiting to hear about Dean's knee. There is a lot of swelling and a lot of blood and bruising on the joint so it is going to be few more days before that settles down.
"The contract is the same situation as Dave's. The players were offered contracts in the summer and Dean has not accepted his at the moment."
