Tommy Hill continues to lead the Virgin Yamaha R6 Cup after claiming a fourth and a second in front of 70,000 spectators at Donington Park.
The R6 Cup, which offers a Virgin Yamaha Superbike ride for 2004 to the winner, was a support class to the Moto GP event and Hill certainly made his mark.
The Lingfield rider's results in the two races maintained his overall lead in the championship by five points from Peter Ward ahead of the next round at Oulton Park on August 10.
Kieron Clark won both races but they were not without controversy. All the riders had a meeting afterwards amid accusations that some had been testing at the circuit in the week before, which is prohibited in this championship.
Hill said: "This championship is all about who is the best rider. We are all supposed to be competing on the same level. It is not about who has the most money and who can afford to take time off work to go testing. It is wrong."
