Sussex football chiefs were today awaiting an official account of the pre-season friendly which flared into violence.
A contest between Matthew Clark County league division two Oakwood and Ryman League division one south Lewes was called off on 75 minutes after fighting which allegedly involved players from both teams and some spectators.
Lewes claim their manager Steven King took the decision to call a halt on Saturday.
Referee Chris Pearce is filing a report to the FA and county chiefs will also expect to be informed.
Sussex FA chairman Ron Pavey said: "Chris Pearce will report this matter to us.
"Until we have the details we cannot comment further."
The report is likely to be studied by county officer manager Nigel Williams and disciplinary chairman Alan Knight.
The game was considered so low-ley that the friendly was played over three 30-minute periods on an outside pitch.
Influential Lewes midfielder Paul Stokes returned to action after 19 months on the sidelines.
