We are extremely worried by the proposed development because the Westdene area cannot cope with a further 112 homes.
The drainage system in the Redhill Drive area is full to capacity and any additional demand could impact upon the entire neighbourhood.
With many homes having more than one car, numerous additional cars will overflow into surrounding roads, which is contrary to Brighton and Hove City Council's policy. The roads cannot cope with additional traffic.
The proposed development is also contrary to the council's policy that social housing should be built close to shopping centres, hospitals and public transport hubs.
Westdene Primary School is oversubscribed and no extra money is available.
The Westdene doctor's surgery is full. The nearest hospital is on the other side of the city. The city shopping centre is three miles away.
These are the reasons why the proposal must be rejected or dramatically amended.
