A leukaemia sufferer is going on a holiday of a lifetime after hundreds of pounds was raised for him from a summer fair.
Craig Mills, 12, from West Worthing, was diagnosed with chronic myloid leukaemia in October.
When his grandmother, Doreen Northfield, a resident at Compton Court in Rustington, told the housing scheme's warden Chris Griffin about Craig he organised a fund-raising fair.
The fair had a variety of stalls including clothes, toys, books, cakes, bric-a-brac, a tombola and a raffle, with prizes donated by local residents and businesses.
It raised £848, which will go towards Craig's first holiday abroad a trip to Florida.
Chris said: "When I heard from Craig's grandmother about his plight I was determined to do something to help him. I would like to thank everyone who helped at the fair and who donated items.
"It went so well we have got plans to hold further fund-raising events at Compton Court in the future."
No date has been set for the holiday for Craig, who is waiting for a bone marrow transplant to help fight his leukaemia and is registered with the Anthony Nolan Trust.
