A man found unconscious in a road has died. Police believe he had been drinking and may have fallen and banged his head.
Paramedics were called to Haddington Road, off Blatchington Road, Hove, at 7.15pm on Wednesday.
The man, 48, was unconscious and had suffered a head injury. He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, where he died yesterday.
A post-mortem examination was being conducted today but police said crime was not suspected.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony O'Donnell said: "We need to speak to anyone in the area at the time."
Police believe they know the man's identity but are withholding his name until relatives had been told.
