I have just received my eagerly awaited Comic Cuts annual for 2002-3 - the Joint Annual Report of the Sussex Police Authority and the Chief Constable of Sussex Police.
I found particularly amusing the statement: "Behind the scenes, new work is being undertaken to ensure even more criminals in Sussex get their just desserts."
Well, there cannot be any less, can there?
We know already what is on the menu for motorists stealing a few miles an hour faster on motorways but what new is being cooked up for thieving house breakers, road tax and insurance dodgers?
An extra smack on the wrist and, in some cases, holidays abroad paid for by the State?
My mind spooled clowns and Pinocchio reading the report and at only 7p per copy I would switch to it from the Beano and Dandy if it was weekly.
