Telscombe rider Mark Winton is burning off the opposition this season.
He revelled in the heatwave conditions to win two of the county's top competitions in three days.
Winton (Lewes Wanderers), riding in the final meeting of the season at Preston Park, stormed to victory in the ten-lap points race and celebrated winning the Sussex Senior Track League with 230 points.
Winton's main rival, Upper Beeding's Sean McClelland (VC Londres), won the final of the 650-metre handicap and finished runner-up in the league with 173 points. Third was Lee Povey (Dataphonic) with 146 points.
Winton then showed what a good all-round rider he has become by winning the Circuit Race Series at Hove Park.
This was much closer and Winton started the final 40km race with a slender three-point lead over Toby Leyton (Brighton Mitre) and just eight points clear of Brighton's Jonathan Sharpe (Boreas).
Mitre's Stuart Fahey, lying in fourth place overall, launched a solo breakaway from the main field at halfway.
Winton then joined a chasing group of six which included his main rivals, Leyton and Sharpe. Fahey, lapping many of the riders, stayed clear for a well- deserved win and Surrey rider Darren Pembroke (Free Riders) won the sprint for second.
Winton, who always looked tactically in command of the situation, finished third ahead of Leyton and Sharpe to ensure he won the overall title.
His final total was 54 points, followed by Leyton (50), Sharpe (44) and Fahey (35). Pembroke, fifth with 16 points, was the first non-Sussex rider.
Forest Row star Sean Yates has been given the all-clear to race again following a heart scare earlier this year.
Yates (Team Clean) lost no time in re-establishing himself as one of Britain's top riders.
He did a 30mph ride to win the Croydon CA ten-mile time trial in 19min.55sec then finished second behind Northern Ireland superstar Michael Hutchinson in the Redbridge 25 in Essex. Hutchinson (Team MDT) recorded 49min.25sec and Yates clocked 51min.24sec.
