Morray Dolan is the highest ranked player at county level in England after his latest all-winning exploits.
Dolan turned in another 100 per cent performance as Sussex continued their bid for the County Championship title in a tough clash with Surrey.
His four wins took his tally to 22 out of 24 in six county matches this season, four more than his main rivals in the region and better than any other player in the country.
In the national inter-county rankings, the Sussex star's average is six points higher than Warwickshire's Liam Farrell and 11 points better than third-placed Andy Barnett, who also plays from Warwickshire.
Dolan's efforts, however, could not prevent Sussex going down by 25-19 at Sutton and slipping a place to third, but they are still only 11 points behind leaders London with four to play.
Sussex won five out of six games at one stage to trail 16-15 but then lost seven out of eight as Surrey clinched the match.
Dolan had good support from Dean Torode, who won three out of four, while Damian Campsey, John Steadman, Mark Proto and Dave Wellman all won two.
Sussex also dropped to third in the B section after being edged out 23-21. They raced into a 9-2 lead and later led 17-14, but a strong Surrey finish turned the match.
John Cairns Jnr was un-beaten for Sussex, while Ashley Holmes and Dave Rogers won three out of four and Ady Clark, Ken Ford, Dan Heale and Pedro Campos two.
The ladies' and youth sides were both beaten 24-20, while the C team went down 28-16.
Candy Wright, Chris Martin, Sharon Moss, Kerry Arnold and Kerry Montague won three games for the ladies, and there were two wins for Becky Shaw and Zoi Kakouris.
Lee Nelson won all four and Carl Boiling and Dan Hodge three for the youngsters, while Derek Cook was best for the C team with three wins.
