Ruling Arun councillors will get a first-hand look at how a historic town is being plagued by traffic problems.
They will visit Arundel's bypass ahead of a meeting in the town about the Government's recent decision not to build a new relief road.
Later in the day residents will be able to air their views about the decision at a council Cabinet meeting being held in the town.
The bypass is one of the topics up for discussion, along with the civic amenity site at Littlehampton.
The meeting in Arundel is one of the council's new-style Cabinet meetings.
Earlier this year, councillors agreed they would extend a scheme to make their meetings more accessible to local people by holding meetings at different venues in the district.
Council leader Norman Dingemans said: "Taking the Cabinet meetings to venues around the district provides an ideal opportunity for residents and businesses to find out more about the way the council works.
"It is also a chance for people to have their say and question us.
"We look forward to hearing the views from Arundel residents next month and learning more about the various issues that are uppermost in their minds."
The meeting will be held at St Nicholas Church Hall on September 8 at 4.30pm.
