Well done, Ms J Marshall and Paul Brazier, for speaking up about seagulls.
It is about time something was done to control these birds.
I have lived in Saltdean for 45 years and have never had any trouble with the gulls until a year ago when people started feeding them and allowed the gulls to nest.
Some neighbours have allowed a nest on their flat roof this year and the gulls have made a nuisance of themselves, upsetting everyone around.
I have a very small pond in my back garden. They and their two babies have taken a fancy to it. Four days ago, I saw the two heavy, clumsy youngsters sitting on my waterlilies.
I came out to send them on their way and was attacked by, I suppose, the mother and half a dozen other gulls joined in.
One of them went for my head. Luckily I was able to retreat quickly indoors. They have become very vicious and very frightening.
As seagulls like raiding refuse, people should never put garbage in bags unless it is wrapped in newspaper and plastic bags to stop smells and make it more difficult to get to the food.
