Chief executives at the country's top companies received pay and pensions packages of more than £2 million last year, a survey has revealed.
Typical base salaries were £600,000, annual bonuses were worth £400,000, long-term incentives, such as share options, added another £550,000 and pensions were worth £450,000, according to Mercer Human Resource Consulting.
